Planning Commission Overview

The Windemere Township Planning Commission is currently comprised of five township resident members, each appointed to a three (3) year term by the Board of Supervisors.  The Planning Commission is responsible for developing the Township Comprehensive Plan, which guides future Township development, and the Windemere Township Zoning Ordinance and Shoreland Ordinance, which protect and enhance the public health, safety, and welfare of the Township and its residents.  Both documents are subject to Township Board approval.  The Planning Commission is also tasked with review and approval of various land use development applications, such as conditional and interim use permits and zoning map amendments.
